Volunteer of the Year: Jordan Laughren
In the summer of 2023, Jordan Laughren, an Aspen native, volunteered on six projects, including (1) two outings along the south side of the summit of Independence Pass removing 50lb pieces of a steel snow fence prototype that had marred the view plane of the Continental Divide for 60 years, (2) two outings hauling out hard-to-reach aluminum panels down the steep slopes of the north summit, remains of the never-completed snow fence, (3) a two-day overnight trail project in partnership with RFOV, working on the farthest reaches of the popular Lost Man Loop Trail, and (4) helping clear and stabilize the access trail to the Classy Cliffs climbing area.
BIG thanks to Jordan for his strong arms & legs and great attitude on all these physically demanding projects!
